The new changes applied to the version of Android 12.1, which Google will release between Android 12 and 13, indicate the possibility of producing a Pixel Fold or the company’s clamshell phone and releasing it in the fourth quarter of 2021.
According to XDA Developers, Android 12.1 has several features for clamshell phones, and this special attention to clamshell phones could be a sign of Google’s interest in producing such products.
This version of the Mountain View resident’s mobile operating system is equipped with a hidden taskbar that displays the most used and most used applications. Also, a tutorial image has been observed that shows the possibility of using two apps in Split-screen view mode.
Google has removed the previous image that introduced this feature and replaced it with a more general image. It is said that the initial rendering image of the company’s Pixel Fold clamshell phone maybe.

This taskbar will be hidden when an application is displayed on full screen. Also. Google seems to be working on animations related to the opening and closing of the folding screen to improve them.
The Pixel Fold project (which may eventually be renamed) is a mysterious project that has been the subject of numerous rumors. According to rumors, the main display of this phone will be equipped with a 5.57-inch panel with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and its fingerprint sensor will be placed next to the phone.
Google may also use its proprietary Tensor chip in Pixel Fold, which is used for the first time in its flagships this year, the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro.
Another model is probably on the way after Pixel Fold
According to 9to5google, there is probably another folding member of the pixel family under development known by the code name Jumbojack. Pixel Fold, which will probably be introduced by the end of this year, will be known by the code name Passport.
The Jumbojack is said to be equipped with two displays, and its codename refers to the Jumbo Jack cheeseburgers reminiscent of the Galaxy Z Flip (hamburger mode) or Z Fold (hot dog mode) among clamshell phones.

Interestingly and perhaps strangely, Jumbojack runs Android 12 and is equipped with features that we do not expect any other clamshell phone to use before the release of Android 12.1, such as how to manage Split-screen mode.
According to this issue, two theories have been proposed: First, this phone will be unveiled before the introduction of Android 12.1. The second theory is that Jumbojack may have been just a prototype whose information was leaked.
