Step 2:  Now click the Send button and hold your finger on it until a window called “Schedule Send” appears.

Note:  If pointing and holding your finger on the Send button does not reveal the Schedule window, you will need to update the Messages app through Google Play. In this case, the SMS scheduling feature will be activated for you.

Here you can select the date and time for scheduling SMS. Clicking on Select day and time at the bottom will give you more settings for this.

Step 3:  By doing the above steps, a small clock icon will appear on the Send option, which means that your SMS is being scheduled. Now click on the Send button again to schedule your SMS successfully.

When you hit the send button, you will see a clock icon next to your message. You can use this clock icon to change your message. For example, edit the text or change the time and date of submission by pressing the Update button.

Alternatively, you can deactivate the message and send it right away, or delete it completely.

These are all tips you need to schedule SMS in Android. Note that your phone needs an internet connection to be able to schedule text messages.

SMS scheduling training on Samsung phones

If you have a Samsung phone, you can use Samsung Messages’ default messaging app to schedule SMS, in addition to the Google Messages app. Fortunately, this application has been adding SMS scheduling capabilities to its features for some time.

  • How to transfer WhatsApp messages from Android to iPhone

Follow the steps below to schedule:

Step 1:  Open the Samsung Messages app. Now tap Compose Message to write a new text message or open an old conversation.

Step 2:  Hover over the + icon to the left of where you wrote the text, then tap Schedule to schedule the text message.

Step 3:  Now you can specify the time and date you want to schedule the SMS. Here in the blank field, type the text you want and then click Send.

That’s it. Your SMS is now scheduled. Just like Google Messages, if you want to change the text of your text message before sending, just point to the message and then select one of the options displayed. Samsung will authorize you to send, delete or edit SMS immediately at this stage.

Text scheduling tutorial on iPhone

SMS scheduling on iPhones is different and perhaps a little more difficult than on Android phones. But it is still possible. You just have to be patient and do it.

The iPhone’s default messenger app has no option for scheduling SMS, however you can send scheduled SMS to others by installing the Shortcuts app, one of Apple’s original products. The procedure is as follows:

Step 1:  Launch the Shortcuts app on your iPhone. If you are using iOS 13 or later, this application is installed on your phone by default. Otherwise, and in the case of old iOS, you need to download the Shortcuts app from the App Store .

Step 2:  By opening the application, enter the Automation tab and click the Create Personal Automation button. In the next step, select the “Time of Day” option and then set the time and date you want to schedule the text.

Step 3:  In the Repeat section, select the Monthly option and then select the date on which you want to send the SMS. Now point to the Next button in the upper right corner of the screen.

Step 4:  On the next screen, tap Add Action and then select Apps from the menu that appears.

Step 5:  Scroll down to find the Messages app icon. Point to the icon and then select Send Message.

Step 6:  Now you need to fill in the Message and Recipient sections before clicking the Next icon. Read the text of your message once and finally point to Done.

From now on, you can edit each one by pointing to the messages, if you wish.

By following the steps above, the iPhone will send your message to the intended recipient at the specified time. But the biggest problem with this method is that it is automated, meaning that the message you write is sent to your contact every month on the day you specify.

With this account, be aware that after sending the scheduled SMS, be sure to delete the automation created for this purpose. For this you can swipe from automation to right to left.

Of course, despite this problem, you should know that SMS scheduling happens correctly and without any defects through this method, and it is one of the safest methods on the iPhone.

Manage things better with a schedule

As you can see in this article, almost all phones today support SMS scheduling. In addition to the methods we mentioned, there are several third-party applications that can schedule your SMS.

These applications include Do it Later, Pulse SMS, Textra, and., All of which are flawless in their work. These apps also give you other benefits like email scheduling, tweets, and more.

What do you think about SMS scheduling? Have you ever used this feature and when do you think it will be used? Be sure to let us know.
