reset Photoshop settings; Sometimes we unknowingly change important settings in Photoshop in such a way that the software loses its past performance. This is where restoring the default settings can come in handy.
It may happen to you that after some time and for some reason, the settings and tools of Photoshop are removed or have a problem. Fortunately, in this case, the problem can be solved without the need to reinstall Photoshop, with the following solutions.
Restore Photoshop settings using the key combination
The easiest and fastest way to reset Photoshop is to use Ctrl + Alt + Shift on Windows and Cmd + Opt + Shift on Mac. To reset this way, click on the Photoshop icon and immediately press the combination keys depending on the operating system. You will then see the following message asking you to reset the confirmation settings.

Reset Photoshop settings via the settings menu
If the first method does not work for you, you can use the second method, which is done through Photoshop’s own settings. Open Photoshop and then press Ctrl + K to open the Preferences window. Now from the window that opens, select the Reset Preferences On Quit option and finally click OK. This resets Photoshop and returns to the default settings.

Restore Photoshop settings by deleting the settings file
If none of these methods work, you can reset the Photoshop settings file using the delete method.
In Windows, go to:
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop version
Go this route on Mac OS:
Users/USERNAME/Library/Preferences/AdobePhotoshop version
Delete the Adobe Photoshop 2021 Prefs file.
By resetting Photoshop, you do not lose any templates, brushes, actions, etc., it is better to back up important parts of the file before resetting.
