Few problems can be found that are as annoying as Windows not booting up. When the operating system does not even have the power to run, finding the source of the problems becomes more difficult than ever.
Of course, there is no irreparable problem. Even if your computer is in a very bad state, you can still find ways to repair it. There are several solutions to solve the problem of Windows 10 not coming up, which we will explain in this article. Stay with us.
1. Use Windows Safe Mode
One of the strangest solutions to Windows 10 not getting up is using Safe Mode, a special way of booting the operating system with the least amount of software. This solution ignores software problems and driver glitches. The interesting thing is that sometimes booting Windows once with Safe Mode method solves the problem of Windows not booting at all.

It is not clear exactly how this happens, but experience has shown that using Safe Mode sometimes solves the problem.
There are two ways to use Safe Mode for Windows 10:
Method 1: Enter Safe Mode from the Windows Recovery section
Most computers get stuck on the Windows logo screen. Stop booting your computer three times in a row when you reach this page (for example, you can restart your computer on this page). By doing this three times, Windows will automatically display the Windows Recovery screen. From this section and from the Choose an Option option, select an option called Troubleshoot. Then click Advanced Options and from there click on Startup Settings.
From the Startup Settings section, you can boot the computer using Safe Mode. You can also choose whether your Windows uses the Internet in Safe Mode. Selecting this item should not affect whether Windows starts up or not.

Method 2: Use Windows 10 Recovery Drive
If you can not enter Safe Mode, you must create a Windows 10 data recovery drive using a USB drive. The Windows 10 data recovery drive is the same as previously seen by hitting the F8 keypad on the keyboard, which Microsoft (like all its other bad decisions) decided to remove.
To build a recovery drive, you need the help of another computer running Windows 10.
Go to Control Panel> Create a recovery drive and then follow the instructions.
After making the recovery drive, you can boot it if the motherboard BIOS or UEFI settings are correct.
2. Check the laptop battery
If you’re using a laptop, battery issues could be one of the reasons Windows 10 does not boot. It is not bad to use another charging cable to see if the problem is solved or not. Make sure the cables you are using are safe. Then remove the battery from the device and connect the device directly to the power supply.

Removing the battery helps to find hardware problems. The key is to check if one of the pieces of hardware is healthy or not. Obviously, if the problem is with the power supply, such as the battery or cable, you will need to replace them, and if the problem persists, another part may need to be repaired.
3. Disconnect all USB sockets from the device
One of the serious problems with Windows 10 updates is that sometimes the computer does not boot Windows due to incompatibility of the USBs connected to the device. You can solve this problem by removing all USBs from the device and restarting the computer.
If your computer gets stuck on the Windows boot screen, usually removing the USBs connected to the computer will fix the problem and the operating system will run. Sometimes restarting the computer eliminates the problem.
4. Disable fast boot
There are some settings in the BIOS or UEFI system that allow Windows 8 and newer operating systems to run faster at pre-loaded drivers. Unfortunately, Windows Updates can cause this feature to crash. Fortunately, this feature, called Fast Boot, can be disabled. The solution is to go to BIOS / UEFI. On most systems, you can go to the BIOS screen by pressing the Delete key while the computer is running. The other two buttons commonly used to enter the BIOS / UEFI are F2 and Escape.
[Some laptops need to use combination buttons. For example, on some Asus laptops, you have to turn off the laptop and then hold down the F2 key to press the power button on the laptop. Note that you should not release the F2 key until you see the Asus logo. Also keep in mind that laptops like Lenovo have a different situation and you have to turn on the computer by hitting the hidden button, which is usually on the left side of the laptop.]
After entering the BIOS or UEFI, you can generally find the Fast Boot option from the Advanced tab and disable it.

If you do not see the Fast Boot option, your computer was probably built before 2013 and does not support the Fast Boot feature.
5. Scan the system
Malware is one of the main causes of Windows not running. A common way to get rid of these malware that causes Windows to run is to use security software and antivirus software that can be booted from USB drives or DVDs. Some companies provide this type of software to users for free. For example, BitDefender and AVG rescue CDs are provided to users for free (but not in Iran).
Using this software, you can scan your system before running Windows and remove malware if it exists.
6. Call the Command Prompt environment
When your device is not able to run Windows, it does not actually do much. But it can still call the Command Promt environment. Using this environment, various methods can be used to solve problems and possibly solve them. To do this, of course, you will need a Windows 10 bootable USB drive or DVD.
To call the Command Prompt, turn on the system and go to the system BIOS settings. Go to the Boot tab and make the Windows 10 bootable drive the first boot option (from the Boot Device Priority section). Keep in mind that the details of the steps may vary from device to device. So pay attention to the posts and tips on the page you see.
Then, connect the bootable drive to the device and restart it.

After booting, you may need to confirm that you want to boot the Windows 10 USB drive or DVD by pressing a button on the keyboard. Then specify the desired language, units of measurement and keyboard language. Then go to the Repair your computer section. In the next section, go to Troubleshoot> Advanced Options> Command Prompt and enter the commands you want.
7. Use System Restore or Startup Repair
If you can use bootable drives to run Windows 10, you might want to consider some other methods as well. After booting one of these drives (either USB or DVD), look for options called System Restore and Startup Repair in the Advanced Options tab.
System Restore is a tool that you can use to restore your Windows to a healthy state. This may solve the problem of Windows not booting. Of course, if your problem is not hardware.

Startup Repair is a tool that finds problems that may have caused Windows to not boot. Use this tool if you are having trouble finding a compelling reason to not run Windows 10.
8. Reset the driver names
A system with more than one drive may cause problems running Windows 10. Of course, solving this problem is simple. To do this, you must use method 6 and run Command Prompt.
Then type the command Diskpart and press the Enter key. Then (before re-typing) enter the list volume command and press Enter. You will see a list that shows the drives installed on your system.

From here, using the select and assign letter commands, you can specify the name of each drive. For example, in the image above, if we want to change the name of the Audio CD to E, we must first type the select volume 0 command and press Enter. Then enter the command assign letter = E in it.

As always when using Command Prompt you have to be very careful about the details. The slightest mistake in this area can cause bigger problems on your computer.
9. Skip the new Windows 10 loading screen
If you need to install a new version of Windows 10 to solve your problem, you may encounter a new Windows 10 boot screen or a so-called new bootloader that makes it a bit difficult to access the tools mentioned above.
Fortunately, there is a simple solution to this problem. First, run Command Prompt according to Method 6 and enter the following command:
Bcdedit / set {default} bootmenupolicy legacy
Now restart the computer. After running the Windows boot screen, you will see that you are facing the same traditional and old screen, and you can easily access Safe Mode and other Windows 10 tools through it.

10. Use of software
Finding the root cause of Windows 10 not booting up is the most challenging part of solving this problem. Obviously, when even Windows is not running, finding the main problem with the computer is difficult and tedious. But it should be noted that other software such as Boot Repair Disk can be used to solve this problem.
Boot Repair Disk software is an open source rescue disk that you can use to find the problem or problems that cause Windows to not boot. It is very simple to use. Just select your 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows and Boot Repair Disk will do the rest.
Of course, using this software does not mean a definitive solution to your problem. But using it may reveal hidden problems of your computer.
11. Restore factory settings

Now we come to the part where we talk about the middle ground: Windows 10. If you have tried all of the above methods and none of them work, it may be time to use the annoying factory reset method.
With this option, you will lose some of your software and information, but some of your information will remain.
12. Use Repair Update
Using this option is similar to restoring factory settings, but with one major difference: this option generally reinstalls Windows. Unfortunately, this solution requires a complete download of the Windows operating system.
[Of course, in Iran, and due to non-compliance with copyright, this method may be ineffective and it can easily be said to reinstall Windows instead. If you continue to have problems, one of your computer’s hardware components may have a problem. Hard drive is the first piece that you should pay attention to in this situation. ]
13. CMOS reset
Resetting the CMOS will reset the BIOS to factory settings and will not adversely affect system performance. Normally to do this you must first enter the BIOS, which is possible by repeatedly pressing the F2 and F8 or Delete keys after the device is turned on.

If the previous method did not work, you can press and hold the physical reset key for five seconds when the system is off and not connected to the power supply, and then repeat the previous steps again. Most motherboards have a dedicated key for this purpose, which you can see the exact location on the manufacturer’s site.

Before pressing the said switch, turn off the power to the system and press the power switch several times to make sure that all the capacitors are empty. Then press the key for 5 to 10 seconds and then release. Due to the small size of the key, it is better to use a nail or the end of a pencil. Also, by connecting a metal object connected to the ground, such as a door frame, make sure that the static electricity in your body is discharged.

Another way to reset CMOS when Windows 10 does not boot involves removing the motherboard battery. CR2032 batteries are commonly used in motherboards that are about the size of a small coin and are located near the PCIe port. Just remove the battery from its place for a few seconds and put it back in the same place; Just be careful not to tilt the metal blade on it when removing it.
14. Fix 0xc0000f error
One common error message when Windows 10 does not boot up is Windows Failed to Start 0xc0000f, the main reason being the regular boot configuration. To solve it, first enter the Command Prompt environment through the methods mentioned in the previous sections.

In the Command Prompt window, enter the following commands. After typing each command, press Enter to execute it.
bootrec
/ FixMbr bootrec / FixBoot bootrec /
ScanOs
bootrec / RebuildBcd
After executing all the commands, type exit and press Enter. Now reboot the system.
15. Check motherboard connections
If you generally encounter a black screen after turning on the system, it is best to first check the internal components of your computer. Loosening RAM or getting it out of the way, not connecting the hard drive properly, or loosening other sockets can be a reason why Windows 10 does not boot.
