How to add text to a photo? Sometimes a picture can be worth writing thousands of words. But sometimes it is necessary to write text in a photo. You can add your own text to your photos. This is very easy on phones with Android, iPhone, Windows or Mac operating systems. All four operating systems and devices have good built-in programs for adding text to a photo. These built-in apps are free. There are also other third-party programs that you can use to insert text into your photo.
How to add text to a photo?
On iPhones
If you have an iPhone with iOS 11 and above, you definitely have access to a tool called Markup that is in your photos app. With Markup, you can add your own text to your photos and images.
1. Open the Photos app (the default iPhone app with which you view photos) and select your desired image.
2. To open the settings page, select the edit option at the top of your page. Select the menu icon (a circle with three dots inside) at the top of the page.
3. From the pop-up section, select Markup.

4. Select the plus sign (+) in the tools at the bottom of the bookmark to add text to the image. You can also select pen, highlight and pencil tools.
5. Select the text from the pop-up menu. A text box appears on the image. You can move and resize the text anywhere you want by touching and dragging it.

6. Select the text box to display a floating menu bar. To edit the text, select Edit. Type the text you want for the image.

On Android
On all Android phones, just open any photo you want to add text to and click on the T option or the edit option, or the magic wand option and select the text and start adding text. You can also install and open Google Photos ( download from Google Play ) on the phone.
- Open the photo on your Android device.
- At the bottom of the image, select the edit option (3 slider icon).
- Select the transition marker.

4. Select the text option.
5. Write the text you want
6. When done, select the Done option.

On operating systems with Android 7 and below, there is no way to insert text into the photo and border the photo. So you have to use a third-party program to do this.
Both on iPhone and Android
Photoshop Express is a free program that offers a variety of ways to edit smartphone photos, including adding text to a photo. It is also a great alternative to your smartphone’s built-in photo editing tools. With Photoshop Express, you can add text with different font styles and colors to your photos.
To add text to your photos on phones running Android and iOS in Photoshop Express, follow these steps:
1. Open Photoshop Express and select a photo.
Note: If you do not see any photos when you open the app, make sure you allow your photos to access the app.
2. There are five symbols at the bottom of the page. Drag that toolbar to the left until you find the T (text) section.
3. Select the T section. You can then choose from a variety of text boxes, shapes and styles.

4. Select the text model you like so that a text box appears on your photo.
5. Tap the box to move it over the image. Select the small edit icon to change your text.
6. To make other settings, you can select font, color, Stroke or Alignment at the bottom of the page.

7. Select the Back option in the upper left corner and then save your photo with the changes applied to it.
In Windows (no need to install software)
On Windows 10
Using Microsoft Photos (the same default software that displays your computer images) you can add text to photos on a computer running Windows 10. If you have Windows 8 or Windows 7, you should use Microsoft Paint. In Windows 10:
1. Open the photo you want to edit in the Photos application .

2. Select Edit & Create and then Edit with Paint 3D .

3. Select the Text option .

4. Click and drag the mouse on the screen to create a frame.

5. Write the text you want.
Tip: In the right panel, you can select your font, size, color and other formatting features.

6. Select the Menu option in the upper left corner.

7. Select one of the Save / Save as options.

On Windows 7 and Windows 8:
1. Run Microsoft Paint (the same program you used to draw with) and open the photo. (If you can not find it, just click on the Windows icon at the bottom left and search for Microsoft paint

2. Select A in the toolbar and then select the image.

3. Hold the mouse over the screen and drag on the screen to create a box for your text.

4. The Text option appears in the menu. Here you can change the font, background and colors. Enter the text you want.
