Benchmarks for the A15 chip; According to initial benchmarks, A15 processor performance improved by an average of 10% in the single-core segment and 21% in the multi-core segment.
The latest models of iPhone and iPad mini 6 receive a chip called A15 Bionic in their womb and take their processing power from it. Apple claims that the chip is the most powerful processor in smartphones and has up to 50% more powerful graphics performance than competitors.
Benchmarks for the A15 chip
According to the benchmarks published by users on the Geekbench platform, the iPhone 13 equipped with the mentioned chip was able to get an average score of 1730 in the single-core test. By comparison, this score is around 1575 for the iPhone 12; So the new chip performs single-core processing about 10 percent faster. On the other hand, the average of multi-core scores reaches 4621, which indicates a 21% improvement in performance compared to the results of the A14 Bionic chip.
Preliminary results show the excellent performance of the new chip. Apple’s latest achievement in the field of processing is in fact SOC (system-on-chip), which consists of various components such as graphics processing unit (GPU), neural engine (Neural Engine), image signal processor (ISP) and… The chip contains 15 billion transistors; Very small switches that store and process binary units 1 and 0, or so-called bits.
In addition to CPU performance, the A15 is also experiencing significant improvements in graphics, especially on the iPhone 13 Pro models; Because Apple has equipped Pro models with a larger graphics core in a breakthrough, this has led to a significant difference compared to standard models. The results of the Metal test show that the standard model of the iPhone 13 scored 10,608 points, which is much lower than the score of 14216 for the iPhone 13 Pro; But the quad-core graphics chip is still 15 percent more powerful than last year.
It should be noted, however, that these results are the first benchmarks of the A15 chip, and on the other hand, Apple did not release many details of the chip at the iPhone 13 introduction event; Therefore, the results cannot be confirmed or denied with certainty.
