100% CPU in games

Most games are GPU-centric instead of CPU-centric. For this reason, they should not put too much pressure on your system CPU. So if you see a 100% CPU run while running a game, it means that there is a problem that needs to be addressed; This is because it slows down the system and shortens the life of the processor.

Before we get into gaming solutions, you should temporarily turn off the Real-time Protection feature in Windows Defender while playing, as a number of people have reported that this causes excessive CPU usage. When playing the game!

  • What is a CPU and what does it do?

To turn off this feature, go to Settings -> Update & Security -> Windows Security -> Virus & threat protection -> Manage settings.

Now in this part, turn off the slider next to the Real-time protection option. Our recommendation is to re-enable this option after the game is over.

Fixed 100% CPU downtime in Apex Legends

Apex Legends is one of the games made in the style of Battle Royale, but you should not have a problem with the CPU becoming 100% while running it; If this happens to you, do not worry because the gamer community has a good solution for you.

One of the best ways to increase your CPU usage while playing Apex Legends is to look at the game’s graphics settings and look at the V-sync settings in this section.

If your V-sync is disabled, change it to Dynamic mode and then return it to Disabled mode after the game is over. Conversely, if your V-sync mode is something else, set it to another mode and return to the original mode when done.

Fixed a 100% CPU problem in Warzone

Activision Blizzard is a free game in the style of Battle Royale games and is known as a standalone version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, which is not well optimized to solve the problem of 100% CPU while playing this game, you should go to Task Manager.

Press the Ctrl ++  keys to go to the Task Manager at the same time Shift. EscClick the Details bar, and then right-click ModernWarfare.

In the menu that appears, go to the Set Priority section and change the game priority to High.
Note: If you have a problem with 100% CPU in other games, you can also use this method to solve the system CPU problem.

WMI Provider Host makes CPU 100%

WMI stands for Windows Management Instrumentation, and WMI Provider Host is actually a major service in Windows 10 that connects to your system with various software to send information about the operating system to each of them.

In other words, this process is very important and should not be simply disabled, but if you find in the Task Manager Processes tab that this section takes up a lot of CPU, then you need to take steps to solve it.

100 CPU usage windows 10 fix

The first solution is to restart the WMI service once. To do this, go to the Services app. servicesYou can also quickly access this section by typing the word in the search section of the Start menu. Now scroll down the page to get to Windows Management Instrumentation. Right-click on this option and then select Restart.

If this solution does not help you solve the problem of 100% system CPU, it’s time to try another solution. The next solution is a little more complicated but could be a better way to deal with CPU overload problems.

If your CPU 100% problem is due to WMI Provider Host processes in the Task Manager, then you need to address this issue in a deeper way. Win Press the +  keys Rsimultaneously and then open eventvwr.

On the left, Applications and Service Logs -> Microsoft -> Windows -> WMI-Activity -> Operational. In advance. This will show you all the processes that WMI Provider Host deals with.

  • How is the CPU made?

Examine the middle column, Operational, and look for errors in this service. Then check the ClientProcessId number under the General tab. This will tell you if you need to focus on the application or if there is a problem with the WMI Provider Host service process.

Now go back to Task Manager and click on the Details tab. Then sort the processes by PID. Find the process that went wrong right-clicks on it and then clicks Open file location. This will help you figure out what software is connected to the problematic process and reinstall, remove, or update its drivers if you wish.

There may be several such errors in the WMI Provider Host that you must repeat the above steps to resolve. Also, only one program or process may have put pressure on your CPU all this time, in which case you can easily solve this problem by using the above steps.

Disable Superfetch or Windows Search

Superfetch is a process by which Windows 10 learns what programs you use most often and then prepares them for you so that they load faster each time you use them. This process is not usually a problem, but if your system is old, it probably won’t be very compatible with Superfetch.

To find out if Superfetch or another service has caused a 100% CPU problem, you must first open the Task Manager by pressing the + + keys at the same time Ctrl,  Shift and  Escapethen click on More details. Next, click on CPU to sort the processes by the amount of CPU they are using.

If you see in this section that a Service Host such as Superfetch or anything else takes up a lot of CPU space, you should right-click on it and then click End Process.

If you want to disable this feature permanently, or at least turn it off until the Windows operating system is updated and enable this option, you must simultaneously press the Win +  keys Rand then type services. Then scroll down the Services page until you find the Superfetch option.

Right-click Superfetch and then click Properties. In the Properties page that appears, click on the menu next to the Startup type option as shown below and select the Disabled option. Now click OK.

You can do this for any service that is causing your system CPU to crash and become 100% crashed. But note that some services are critical to the proper functioning of the system, so you must be extremely careful in this regard. Another reason for the 100% CPU of the Windows Search service is that it can be easily deactivated using the above method.

Reset your Power Plan

Changing the power consumption options in Windows can have a significant impact on your system performance. If you set this to High performance, it will most likely save 100% of your CPU, which is higher on older systems.

In the Start search bar power plan, type and search for the phrase, and then click Choose a power plan. If this section was set to High performance or Power Saver, change it to Balanced.

Click Change plan settings for more security, and then click Restore default settings for this plan from the new page that opens.

Check your system power supply

This problem can occur for both desktop users and users who are running Windows 10 on a laptop. If your power supply fails (main cable on laptop, PSU on desktop) it can easily cause CPU malfunction.

You may see a 100% CPU upgrade on Windows 10 when your power supply fails.

100 CPU usage windows 10 fix

Solving this problem on a laptop is very simple. Just unplug your laptop from the power cord and then click on the battery icon in the lower right corner of your Windows 10 screen and go to Battery Settings -> Power & Sleep Settings -> Additional Power Settings. Then select the High-Performance option.

If the problem was with your power supply, you should now go to the Task Manager using the Ctrl + Shift + Esc keys to see that the CPU‌ operation is normal.

If you are using a desktop computer, applying this solution will be a bit more complicated as you will need to disconnect the PSU from your computer and try it on another system. Of course, we recommend that you leave this task to experts.

  • How to choose a CPU?

Disable third-party antivirus software

If you are using antivirus on Windows 10, you will probably put a lot of unnecessary pressure on the CPU. It is good to have more security on the system but not when you do not need it and it will damage the CPU.

Every year, Windows 10’s security software, Windows Defender, gets better and better, and now it can be considered more or less the best antivirus available, so safely disable your third-party antivirus software because Windows Defender protects your system well. will do. After doing this, check to see if disabling third-party antivirus has a positive effect on your CPU usage. If you see a CPU improvement, be sure to remove the antivirus software installed on your system.
